The SS2011 presentations during New York Fashion Week were absolutely amazing. My love for fashion runs deep, but a transparent statement would be to say, I. Love. Clothes. And that statement would absolutely be true. Lets get in to some of my favorites:
1. Marc Jacobs: This designer's show is always one of the best events during fashion week. His shows are a party, but the clothes are always dead on where trends, and styling is concerned. This designer also has a knack for draping - something he showed off this season. Jacobs took it to the 70s where funkadelic patterns and analog suits reigned supreme. Check out his photos below:
2. Marchesa: I call Marchesa the red carpet commander-in-chief. They make some of the absolute best clothes that always end up on red carpets. Celebrity stylists such as Rachel Zoe swear by them - and if they are good enough for Team Zoe, they are certainly good enough for me. This season, the brand included jumpsuits, and short dresses to ignite interest, but all eyes were on the elaborate dresses with organza and flounce embellishments. Check this out:
3. DVF: For next season, DVF is sure to be one of the bigger selling names just because she makes clothes for all kinds of women. That would include: jumpsuits, hooded tops, and suits with tailored leg lines and extravagant prints. DVF has a new number 2 with serious fashion cred. This season you could see his european influence in tighter tailoring and bolder colors:
I freelanced for AMMO Magazine in New York this season for NYFW.
