Most recently, the stylist made headlines when he and Zoe announced that he was leaving Team Zoe. I am not going to lie, I was sad. Part of what made the show so good was the chemistry between Zoe and Goreski. I could kind of see it coming in the last episode - Goereski was over worked, and over it. This is not boding well for the rumor mills that maintain that super-stylist Rachel Zoe cannot keep an assistant. But that's neither here nor there.
I love Goreski's style because he can make style the same look for different occasions. He wears clothes well, but he thinks about styling not just for the Zoe clients, but he styles for himself with a vision and renaissance of all of the style icons that we celebrate everyday. People talked about Goreski's style as being a perfect example of what men's style should be. Here is what the New York Times had to say: According to fellow fashionistas, that style exists at the intersection of several current trends: a revival of early ’60s gentlemanly dressing stoked by the popularity of “Mad Men,” the cross-over onto the men’s catwalk of a super-skinny ideal long epitomized by female models, and the regular return of that all-purpose fashion doubles partner, the ’80s preppy.
It is going to be hard to know how Goreski is going to make out as a stylist. Because of the show, Goreski now has the name and clout to branch out on his own. Zoe will always be a brilliant visionary with impeccable style. We don't pay attention to gossip rags around here, so as far as I am concerned, the two ended on good terms. That being said, I am sure that Zoe will be around to continue to mentor fashion's newest style guy.
