New York Fashion is at its best on Madison Avenue, just ask any of the high-end tastemakers that decide what's in style and out. Most recently, I was on Madison Avenue for a party at La Perla on Madison celebrating their new collection with Jean Paul Gaultier. The event was fabulous and the presentations were uber impressive - but more on that later...
Being on Madison Avenue always does something to me - a good something. There are plenty of Chanel boutiques in New York. The same can be said for Michael Kors, but being on Madison is different. The high end experience along with the fashion that gets thrust-ed upon you, together make for a walking tour of fashion fantasy. The displays alone just add to the glitz and glam. Each time I went to a store, I checked in on Facebook and Twitter.
As for the event at La Perla, the garments were amazing, but I didn't expect anything less. Jean Paul Gaultier does amazing things in fashion and the La Perla collaboration only made things better. From what I heard, the collection was largely inspired by Madonna circa 1980s. Fern Mallis, and Rachel Roy were among the bigger names at the fab event. For a cold Thursday night, a lot of people showed up and viewed the collection.
