Look Book

I get inspired by anything and everything - and I do mean that in the purest sense. Fashion is everywhere, and it is the job of industry people to translate fashion into great style. This page will be my personal file of inspiration, looks, and editorials that I have put together.

Last year, I had the pleasure of styling a shoot for Black Mary Jane, an innovative fashion blog that caters to African American men and women.I was inspired by Girl Groups and the movie, "Dreamgirls" such is the shoot. Check out the inspiration board and photos from the shoot below:

Check out my latest fashion piece that was published in SoulTrain.com. I love writing for such a legendary name in the business. This story was a piece on what to wear to different Christmas Stories. I also did styling for each party to include in the piece. Here is the story (http://soultrain.com/2010/12/23/fashion-rescue-what-to-wear-this-holiday-party-season/), and below are some of the looks:

I love Soul Train for what it was and what it is. Soul Train is permanently imprinted in black culture as being a program with a visual musical history. Everyone performed at Soul Train - and its legacy lives on. So when I was approached to do some stories for their website, I was honored to say the least. To be part Soul Train's legacy is a great opportunity! Here is my first two stories:

Below is a story that I did on the talented Faith Evans. Love her voice. Love her style. Love her music.

Below is a story that I did on Blaxploitation. The analytical feature asks important questions about the genre and its impact on the black community. http://soultrain.com/2010/11/21/views-is-blaxploitation-still-relevant/

I recently did a personal shop for Shalana Crudup. After she purchased the pieces, I styled them on her for an event that she was going to. Check out the photos below and let me know what you think:

Very few designers can die having made such an incredible impact on fashion - Willi Smith is one of the few that can. Williwear, at the height of its prowess - was an amazing brand with clothes that were made for real women with curves and all. Smith surccumbed to AIDS years ago, but the designer was an amazing voice for fashion. I am digging this one out of the archives. Check out this tribute that I did on Willi Smith for Black Star News in Harlem.
