Why I Adore Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs is quickly becoming synonymous with the term, "fashion." His collections are popular. His shows are always the most anticipated, and the designer is also the creative director for Louis Vuitton. He truly has the world on a string - or at least the fashion world. I adore Marc Jacobs because the designer is the ultimate multi-tasker. To date, Jacobs is heading up, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Luis Vuitton and his flagship Marc Jacobs label.

He was born in 1963 and studied at Parsons where the designer did a line of knit-sweaters before he even graduated. That was impressive! Jacobs is the face of his brand which I especially admire. Speaking of his brand, the designer is forever expanding with book stores, fragrances, and boutiques making the Marc Jacobs brand more accessible than ever before.

A few years ago, the designer went through a change of his own. Look at a photo below of him before and one of him now:

What I absolutely love is that he is the best of friends with Lil' Kim - and wrote her while she was in jail. That to me, is just awesome. But Jacobs' list of celebrity friends is as long as his list of accomplishments and they proudly sit front row at all of his shows.

Marc Jacobs is definitely a fashion hero of mine. He is an important designer for girls and guys that dress outside of the box. He makes beautiful clothes and edgy clothes that make a difference in people's lives - and for that we need to be grateful to him.

The designer is getting a lot of press lately. He appeared in some of my favorite September issues this year, but my favorite was a photo of his killing Rachel Zoe in a spread for Harper's Bazaar. The photo was styled by Zoe and the clothes used in the shoot were by Marc Jacobs. When you think of New York designers, Marc Jacobs is always at the top of everyone's list. He does New York justice and solidifies the city's reputation as a fashion capitol.

I think it is obvious that I am a fan!

I would loooooove to meet Marc Jacobs more than anything. So if you are reading this, Mr. Jacobs - my name is James. I love your take on fashion and you are a great inspiration. Not to sound like a groupie, but one day, I want to be just like you when I grow up!
