J.W. Anderson Shows Androgyny For Fall 2011 by James R. Sanders for Kenton Magazine


Genderless clothing?  What a concept.

J.W. Anderson is one of those designers who consistently try to prove that androgyny is doable, and as far as his fans are concerned, he succeeds. This designer creates collections that both men and women would wear, and it really does work.

Anderson’s direction is uptown-grunge with an old edge – for both his women’s and men’s collections that were shown separately at London Fashion Week. Anderson, originally from Ireland, was first an actor, and was said to have liked stage costuming so much that he went to the London College of Fashion to pursue design. Soon after, he was sponsored to show during London Fashion Week.
